New romance novella teaser!

I think you may have guessed by the title, but I'm thrilled to announce that I'm currently writing a Christmas romance novella!

But how did the idea come about? Well.... There's a story behind that too, hence this blog post! 

As you all know, 2020 has been a strange year and living through a pandemic has been very challenging to say the least! Until last month however, I'd surprised myself by how well I'd  responded so positively and calmly to the world going mad around me and things had finally started to look up here in Britain. Life was starting to get back to normal (or the new normal at least) and it felt like we were through the worst of it. I even managed to get away for a little staycation a few weeks ago (you can read about my getaway here:)

But in the last couple of weeks things have gotten really bad again and now we find ourselves locked down again where I live, with the pandemic even worse now than it was in the peak.

We are now 6 months on from the initial lock down restrictions being put in place and they had barely been lifted before they were reinstated again, so to say I was feeling deflated would be an understatement. I really hit a low and felt hopeless; but being someone who practices gratitude and mindset techniques I tried hard to positively re-frame my thoughts and focus on what I had to look forward instead.... suddenly it hit me! Christmas is on it's way! 

Almost instinctively, I started unintentionally plotting a story outline and came up with a modern, festive fairy-tale esque Christmas romance idea which excited me a lot! 

I hadn't planned on writing a Christmas romance this year (or ever to be honest) but I also hadn't planned on living through the struggles of a global pandemic yet here we are! I realised that now more than ever the world needed cheering up and that I should run with this idea and write and publish it.... I suppose it just goes to show that creative inspiration can come to us from the darkest of places and at the strangest of times and I guess that as writers we should never rule anything out or be too rigid in our plans because we never know what might crop up in our imaginations!

I intend on releasing the novella (The Billionaire - Laid Bare) as a free ebook!

I truly hope that it will bring some much needed escape and cheer to my readers in the same way that it has for me writing it because I am honestly loving it! It's got the makings of a classic romance, a mysterious billionaire, a haphazard but well meaning protagonist, a peculiar proposition that forces them together and a festive season that changes both of their worlds forever!
